Kevin Nastiuk had a multifaceted, 14-year professional goaltending career. Drafted in the fourth round #126 overall in the 2003 NHL entry draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. Kevin was named as the backup goaltender in five NHL games.  Nastiuk’s career took him to the United States where he played in both the American Hockey League and East Coast hockey league. He then had opportunities to play in Europe, DEL and DEL2 of the German Hockey League where he captured two DEL championships and 1 European trophy.  His final playing destination was in England where he starred for the Coventry Blaze of the EIHL.  Having played in a multitude of cities and countries, Kevin was afforded the opportunity to learn multiple methods of goaltending techniques that were being taught in different destinations around the world. While having world class coaching and teammates throughout his career.

Nastiuk had a stellar junior career as the starting goaltender with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL).  During his tenure with the Tigers, Kevin won a WHL title and was named the playoff MVP along with a 2nd team all-star award. He also has great experience at the International level. Playing Under 16 (Alberta) Under 17-silver medal (Alberta, B.C) and Team Canada Under 18 winning gold and goalie of the tournament. While in Europe (Berlin) Kevin also played in the Champions Hockey League.

Kevin recently earned a master’s degree in Science and Sports Management along with two specialized certificates. Frequently referred to by coaches and teammates as a student of the game, Nastiuk’s transition into goaltending instruction is a natural one.  All of Kevin’s sessions are set to emulate game like situations, while recognizing each goalie’s strengths and weaknesses and designating time for drills to effectively improve each athlete’s skill set.

Goaltending has been Kevin’s passion ever since he was four years old.  He grew up playing all his minor hockey in Edmonton and is excited to share his experiences and teachings with his students.
